Hongkou District convened a roundtable meeting on April 18 with leaders from key export-oriented enterprises to address new challenges and opportunities in today's global landscape and to chart strategies for high-quality regional economic development.
District Party Secretary Li Qian attended the meeting and called on businesses to remain confident and resilient amid external uncertainties.
Representatives from Dewu, Lianhua Supermarket, Shanghai Xianchen, BOSE Music, ZEME Technologies, Zhijing Technologies, Shanghai Syntrans International Logistics, COSCO Shipping Logistics, and ICBC Hongkou Branch shared their experiences, voiced concerns, and offered suggestions. Relevant government departments responded to issues raised on site.
Li stressed the need for strategic determination and pragmatic action. He urged businesses to leverage institutional strengths, market advantages, and policy support, using available policy "toolboxes" to navigate risks.
He encouraged open dialogue, advising enterprises to report problems, share resources, and offer feedback actively, so the government can fine-tune support measures in real time.
Looking ahead, Li called on businesses to seize opportunities from Shanghai’s ongoing drive to strengthen its role as an international center for finance, trade, shipping, science, and culture.
He urged companies to accelerate industrial upgrades, stay committed to globalization, seek domestic market transformation opportunities, and focus on long-term innovation.
He emphasized the importance of building a sustainable and resilient export-driven economy in Hongkou. Deputy District Director Chen Shuai also participated in the meeting.
