The district's cultural promotion initiative proved to be a major draw, with a wide array of activities and experiences celebrating the arrival of spring through art exhibitions, garden tours, and more.
During the holiday, Hongkou's tourism attractions hosted over 540,000 visitors. Each site offered themed activities tailored to showcase their unique attributes, integrating cultural and tourism experiences that highlighted the distinct charm of Hongkou’s cultural background.
The Memorial of the 4th National Congress of the Communist Party of China showcased a photo-documentary exhibition, which depicted the CPC’s cultural and publicity efforts through various historical periods.
The Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum held in-depth guided tours narrated by seasoned guides, detailing the historical coexistence between the local people and over 20,000 Jewish refugees during WWII.
Shanghai Lu Xun Museum offered a half-day parent-child camp where participants could visit eight historical sites related to Lu Xun’s life and work, including his former residence, where they created their own rubbings of the architectural facades.
The North Bund Visitor Center organized the "Riverside Market," featuring creative products, DIY crafts, and pop-up theme activities in collaboration with brands like Nongfu Spring and Huawei, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
The Memorial of the 4th National Congress of the CPC, a 5A-rated site, saw about 17,200 visitors, while the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum received over 2,400 guests.
Shanghai Lu Xun Museum welcomed about 12,700 visitors. The North Bund Visitor Center and North Bund Shipping Center, both popular for their rich cultural offerings, received more than 150,000 visitors. Parks like Shanghai Luxun Park and Heping Park saw visitor numbers of 220,000 and 143,700 respectively.
Over 654,600 visitors enjoyed the beautiful spring weather along the Huangpu River and North Suzhou Road sections, an increase of about 23 percent compared to last year. The artistic and cultural events continuously evolved, offering innovative experiences that enriched the holiday for residents and tourists alike.
The INLET hosted activities under the theme "Haipai Trend · Youth Life Festival," including a bookstore reading festival and a "Modern Renaissance" design exhibition, establishing it as a hotspot for young locals. Ruihong Tiandi Shopping District presented a five-day music festival featuring vibrant performances and quirky markets, adding to the holiday cheer.
The exhibitions at the Duolun Museum of Modern Art and the Zhu Qizhan Art Museum offered insights into contemporary artistic practices, highlighting Hongkou’s commitment to deep cultural engagement. These events not only entertained but also educated visitors, adding layers of cultural richness to their experiences in Hongkou.
