Fudan University and Fuxing Senior High School signed an agreement to jointly cultivate innovative talent, marking a significant stride in educational partnership and talent development.
The signing ceremony for "Top Innovative Talent Cultivation Program" was held on December 22 at Fudan University's Zibin Hall.
The event was attended by Qiu Xin, the Party Secretary of Fudan University, and Li Qian, Party Secretary of Hongkou District, who both delivered key speeches. Xu Lei, vice president of Fudan University, hosted the ceremony, with Chen Xiaojie, deputy district director, in attendance.
Qiu Xin highlighted the triad of education, science, technology, and talent development. He outlined Fudan University's commitment to align with national strategies, leveraging its resources to innovate in talent cultivation and scientific education.
The program aims to elevate the quality of basic education in Hongkou, integrating regional strengths and university resources. Qiu urged for enhanced collaboration and resource sharing to bridge basic and higher education, enhancing the cultivation of innovative talent.
Li Qian echoed these sentiments, marking the collaboration as a new era in educational integration and cooperation.
The focus, he said, should be on nurturing well-rounded, globally-minded talents with a strong sense of social responsibility.
He called for a holistic approach to education, strengthening initiatives like the "Su Buqing Class" (named after then academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, renowned Chinese mathematician and educator Su Buqing) and fostering a high-quality innovation ecosystem. Li proposed expanded cooperation, encouraging more exchanges between the district and university to enrich the educational landscape.
The collaboration will harness Fudan University's expertise and research capabilities, working alongside Fuxing Senior High School to develop the "Su Buqing Class." The joint effort will span school management, curriculum design, teaching reforms, and a streamlined transition from high school to university education, with a focus on developing students of exceptional all-around quality.
