Theme Activity of World First Aid Day Organized

On the coming of the 22nd World First Aid Day, the Hongkou District Committee of the Shanghai Charity Foundation cooperated with New Era Civilization Practice Center in Hongkou District and Shanghai General Hospital to provide online training themed "Red Cross First-aid Rescue".

Doctor Lin Jian, trauma orthopedist of Shanghai General Hospital, trainer for international first-aid accreditation qualification of the Red Cross and municipal-level teacher of first-aid training of the Shanghai Red Cross Charity Foundation, explained operational skills of first-aid online. In the live show, Lin guided community volunteers and student volunteers to treat daily injuries by demonstration and interaction.

In order to appeal the world to popularize first-aid knowledge, the International Federation of Red Cross and the Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) set every second Saturday in September as the World First Aid Day. This year, the World First Aid Day fell on September 11, with the theme of Being Fist-aid Hero in Schools and Society.

It was reported that the Hongkou District Committee of the Shanghai Charity Foundation adjusted the training mode under the normalized prevention and control of COVID-19, so as to enable more citizens to learn about and grasp the on-site first-aid knowledge and skills and enhance the capacity of self-rescue and mutual aid. Since last June, the District Red Cross Society has worked with Hongkou District Party Construction Service Centre to provide series lectures, which received wide popularity from trainees.

The training covered 15 stations with AEDs in communities, schools, hospitals, the new era civilization practice centers of the district and sub-districts, the Party masses service center of the district and sub-districts and the District Red Cross Society with online audience of over 10,200.

The training also covered the District Red Cross Society's in-pair areas such as Qiubei County, Maguan County, Funing County and Xichou County in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, which was highly praised by the locals.
