From September 3, the community health service centers in Hongkou District started to vaccinate people aging from 12 to 14 against COVID-19.
At the Community Health Service Centre of Liangcheng Xincun Sub-district, students and their parents with masks orderly entered the vaccination stations in queue after temperature test and check of Shanghai QR Code and Travel Code. An official of the center said: "The waiting zone, the registration zone, the vaccination zone, the observation zone and the emergency zone are linked by a one-way path." Enough staff was assigned on every vaccination sections to ensure the smooth operation of teenagers’ vaccination. A total of nearly 20 people of the center participated in the vaccination on that day, and many parties including school teachers and volunteers came to help as well.
To cope with the adverse reaction after vaccination, various emergency devices in emergency disposal room was in full preparation. Additionally, the pediatricians from Shanghai No. 4 People's Hospital waited on site and inspect the observation zone every half an hour.
Many people in the observation zone said that they would actively respond to registering the vaccination timely. Wu Lihua, a mother, said: "Parents have already been vaccinated. I feel at ease for accompanying my son for vaccination today. The vaccination can comparatively improve his immunization and guarantee his study and physical and mental health, as he is busy studying in Grade 9."
It was learnt that the students of Jiangwan Junior High School came for vaccination upon registration according to grades and classes. Next, all the community health service centers in Hongkou would continuously vaccinate junior high school students in an intensive way to consolidate the immunization.
