Activities Sponsored to Celebrate 37th Teachers' Day

September 10 is the 37th Teacher's Day. Recently, all walks of life in Hongkou have organized colorful celebrations to carry forward the good trend of respecting teachers and valuing education. The whole district is filled with a strong atmosphere of caring for, loving and respecting teachers.
Guo Fang, Chief of District Party Committee, made a special trip to Qiubei Middle School affiliated to Yunnan Normal University when she went to Yunnan to carry out cooperation between East and West. He gave a warm condolence to the volunteer teachers from Hongkou District, and extended greetings and high respects to teachers and educators in Hongkou. She hoped that educators would bear in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping's sincere instructions, continue original aspiration in a century, take on mission of educating people, insist on thoughts and feelings and study hard, to contribute to the great cause of teaching and educating people. Wu Yanfeng, He Yiqun, Wang Zhihua and Li Ming, officials of Hongkou District, attended the meeting.
On September 10, the activity of celebrating the 37th Teachers' Day and the activity of teaching exhibition of the integrated construction of ideological and political courses for kindergartens, primary and middle schools in Hongkou District were held in Shanghai Fuxing Senior High School. Hu Guangjie, Deputy Chief of District Party Committee and District Governor, attended the event and delivered a speech. A number of excellent teachers in Hongkou District, such as Chen Mingqing from the First Affiliated Middle School of East China Normal University, and Wang Liyun, the Hongkou District No. 1 Foreign Language Primary School, were commended at the meeting. District officials Wu Qiang, Yue Caixin, Zhang Lei and Guo Qiwen attended.
At present, Hongkou is solidly promoting the accelerated construction of the comprehensive education system featured by the "Rainbow Plan", the "Integration of Five Education" and the "Great Ideological and Political Course". In the integrated construction of ideological and political courses for kindergartens, primary and middle schools in Hongkou, four ideological and political teachers from Hongkou District Experimental School and Hongkou District Experimental Kindergarten jointly carried out a wonderful ideological and political teaching, with distinctive themes and rich contents, which left a deep impression on the teachers and students who watched online and offline in the whole district.
With the theme of "Never Forgetting Original Aspiration of Foster Virtue through Education and Keeping in Mind Mission of Educating People for the Party", all walks of life in Hongkou have carried out various activities to pay tribute to the majority of educators working hard on the front line.
On September 9, the National Flag Square of the Memorial of the Forth National Congress of the Communist Party of China held a special oath for new teachers. 134 new teachers from Hongkou lined up, raised their right hands and solemnly took an oath under the national flag to further strengthen their determination and confidence in teaching and educating people. From September 9 to 10, the large electronic screen of Magnolia Square, the landmark building on the North Bund, lit up the night sky by circularly playing the blessings of Teacher's Day and opening lights for all teachers to express sincere respect and blessing.
It is reported that kindergartens, primary and middle schools in Hongkou District have also held celebrations one after another. Various calligraphy and painting exhibitions, micro film exhibition and broadcasting, character interviews, practical projects and other wonderful events have inspired the majority of educators in Hongkou to have a sense of honor, responsibility and mission in teaching and educating people. They have expressed that they should fulfill their duties, work hard, live up to their mission and people’s expectations, to make new efforts to ensure that education meets the people's satisfaction.
