2nd Shanghai Intl Winter Festival Unveiled

On December 23, the 2nd "Shanghai International Winter Festival" officially opened at Shanghai Magnolia Plaza as the 400-day countdown to the Beijing Winter Olympic Games is approaching. A three-month public winter themed activity is to be held at the largest ever-present outdoor ice and snow space of 1,200 square meters in Shanghai. Kong Fu'an, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and Zheng Hong, deputy district governor, attended the launching ceremony.

It is reported that the area of the super-big outdoor real ice rink increased by 50% compared with the previous festival, this festival added customized lighting show, ice performance and others. In the future, the organizers will invite professional teams for curling competition every weekend. Activities will be held on every holiday according to the corresponding theme to set off the festival atmosphere.

Besides, Hongkou will launch all kinds of new year’s promotion activities with major commercial enterprises during the theme marketing activities of shopping season for new year. As one of the important activities, the Shanghai International Winter Festival will bring more surprises to the brilliant urban life and prosper the night economy.
