Shanghai General Hospital Unveils Core Medical Area
The citizens visited the machine doctor in the "Smart Operating Room".

Due to the Public Open Day, more than 100 citizens, and representatives of teachers and students from Hongkou visited Shanghai General Hospital on September 5, to admire profound changes made by AI, robots, 5G infrastructure and other currently-popular technology fields, and these cutting-edge technologies applied in COVID-19 control.
"The medical imaging diagnostic equipment integrated with AI elements is so cool," said the post-1990 visitor Lin who visited the AI platform with lung screening software, cardiovascular screening software, automatic coronary artery, and head and neck vascular processing system at the visiting spot of the radiology department.
According to the radiologist, AI technology is improved to a new level to comprehend images, and is highly-accurate to detect and classify image contents upon profound learning. "AI technology has embodied its value and potential during the outbreak," said the radiologist. The AI platform aims to quickly screen pulmonary infection, and greatly improve the diagnostic efficiency.
In addition to AI, the machine doctor at the visiting spot of "Smart Operating Room" greatly widens the people’s horizon. With four mechanical arms, it is the 4th generation of DaVinci surgical robots, and can be operated to flexibly complete the task that is hard for human.
Medical operation needs difficult perspectives at any time, so the "surgical robots are more in line with modern medical philosophy featured with precision, minimally invasive and rapid recovery. Some operations can reduce nosocomial infections," according to the chief surgeon of the Operation Center.
Further more, Hongkou Division and Songjiang Division of Shanghai General Hospital unveiled 5G standardized fever clinic, radiology department and other core medical areas during this year's "Public Open Day". Through immersive interaction, the citizen representatives had a taste of the humanism in hospital, and the changes in modern medical treatment made by high-end technology.
