Wei Rui is an employment instructor from Zhumeng Studio of Liangcheng Xincun Sub-district Community Service Center, and helps a graduating student Li Jie gets a job who now sends her a thank-you note that "Ms. Wei, I have been on duty for a few months, and everything is fine. It is now easy for me to carry out the work, thank you so much for your help".
To establish files in advance
Set up by the Sub-district, Zhumeng Studio aims to offer the community residents employment and entrepreneurship services. Since its establishment, the Studio has made a survey of the employment intention of college students in the Sub-district to help new graduates get job.
According to the actual population information base and the civil affairs system data, the Studio develops the "Guidance on Employment of College Students", and supplies policy advice and employment and entrepreneurship services to improve the efficiency upon one-time visiting and long-term service, while the career mentors and employment helpers make a survey. According to statistics, they surveyed a total of 114 college students in 2019, which involved 27 residential committees; 110 of them studied in the country, and most of them were mainly in the third year of college.
Through in-advance survey, the Studio set up a one-person-one-file service profile for Li Jie as early as a year before he graduated, and began supplying guidance on employment and entrepreneurial intention and specific employment to him. Majoring in mechatronics, Li had a bad performance in several interviews due to introversion and poor expression. As a result, Wei contacted with Li, and helped him make job psychological construction and build up job confidence, while improving his resume and offering him mock interview training.
Affected by the outbreak, the employment situation was grim in the first quarter of this year, and the recruitment market was at a standstill too. However, Wei paid attention to Li's situations in real time and contacted with the firms. When matching him with the right job, Wei accompanied him on the interview. Finally, Li got the job offer.
Moreover, the Studio learned that Yang Huiwen, a college junior from Liangwu Residential Area, looked for a summer internship in early July. After mastering her intention and major, the Studio recommended an internship of assistant finance for her. After an interview, Yang got the internship.
To manage targeted services in groups
The in-advance survey lays a solid foundation for graduates’ employment in the Sub-district. This year, the Studio's employment helpers sort out the job-hunting situations of 288 new graduates here, and classify their current situations and intentions. Of these, 64 are employed; 51 are in internship; 30 do not sign the labor contracts; 82 are preparing for further study; 49 are seeking for employment; and 12 can not enjoy the employment services for other reasons.
The Studio divides 49 job-seekers into 3 groups. The staff of the Reception Center offer in-pair services to form a service mode of "in-group management, targeted services, one person and one file". At the same time, the staff carry out policy promotion, psychological guidance, job training, and job recommendation, and issue the "Guide on Employment and Entrepreneurship" and the "Letter to New Graduates" that are customized for each graduate, which strengthens their confidence in job search and helps them find the right direction.
In addition, the Studio offers regular services, makes visits and tracking every two weeks, to understand the situation and job search of each graduate in time.
Liang Qiong is an employment helper from the Studio too. Among her clients there is a graduate from professional high school, Liu. Liang has screened job offers for him according to his actual situation by talking to him a lot. After Liu is hired by a supermarket, Liang often calls him, or goes to the supermarket talking about his work condition. When Liu wants to quit the job because of a small misunderstanding with his co-worker, Liang gives guidance to him in time, and then Liu has his confidence back and gets closer with his co-workers later.
The employment helps not only help graduates find their favorite jobs, but also have a subtle impact on their career outlook. Wu Yanjing, one of the helpers, has a client named Xia who originally desires to work in a foreign firm. Under Wu's matchmaking and guidance, Xia is successfully hired by a foreign firm. However, she chooses to be a social worker later. In the face of incomprehension, Xia explained, "Wu is a social worker, and I know her selfless dedication while contacting with her, so I want to be such a person too."
The Studio helps 24 graduates find the right job in this two-month summer vacation.
To offer online services
Due to COVID-19 control this year, the former face-to-face service has been blocked. In order to offer employment services, the Studio switches it to online services, mobilizes the reception center, workstation, and employment helpers to set up WeChat groups including the Central Management Group, the Employment Service Group, and the Community Job-search Group.
Among them, the Community Job-search Group gathers helpers and graduates, so that the job search information and the service consultation can be sent to graduates at the first time, which helps the communication between them. According to statistics, the Group helps a total of 540 graduates upon online services, 220 of whom have interview opportunities, and 98 will be hired.
In addition to the employment services for graduates, the Studio makes efforts on employment and entrepreneurship service, policy promotion and skills imparting in the Sub-district.
With the help of Liangcheng Entrepreneurship Business School, the Studio started the online teaching in the first half of this year, and worked with the District Employment Promotion Center, the District Women's Federation, the Sub-district Women's Federation, the Sub-district Service Center for the Party and the Masses, the CYL Sub-district Committee, Xinyefang Entrepreneurship Incubation Base and other units to hold 6 entrepreneurship salons and policy publicity activities attracting 1,800 attendees. At the same time, there are 4 online employment recommendation activities that have a total of 1,100 attendees, 90 of whom are hired and 350 get the interviews.
