AI Elevator System Re-upgraded

The elevator of Quyang Building at Quyang Road Sub-district will issue an alarm that “Dear passengers, e-motorcycles have hidden dangers if going upstairs, so please leave them out of the elevator. Thank you for cooperation" if the residents push their e-motorcycles into it. The residents said that the alarm is like an 24-hour administrator, which in fact is a ladder maintainer of a newly-installed e-motorcycle detection and identification warning system.
According to the property manager of Quyang Building, the ladder maintainer is a upgraded ladder system that is a set of AI elevator system developed by Shanghai Zailing Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Fudan University to identify the situation of people being trapped in elevator, to assist in giving an alarm and to automatically detect and record elevator’s problems. Now, it is upgraded to stop e-motorcycle going upstairs, and its camera can make an intelligent analysis of video images upon real-time acquisition. Once an e-motorcycle gets into the elevator, it will send a warning message at the first time, and reach a recognition rate of as high as 99%, which works as a 24-hour administrator.
There are certain potential risks if the e-motorcycle getting into the elevator, so it is key to prohibit this behavior. In recent years, the fire accidents caused by e-motorcycles occur frequently and increasingly in our country. Some e-motorcycles are parked in public areas such as walkways and stairways, and most of its part is made of combustible materials. Once the fire is caught, its high burning rate and a large amount of toxic smoke will make it difficult to escape with life but easy to cause casualties.
In early 2017, the Ministry of Public Security issued the “Notice on Standardizing Parking and Charging of E-motorcycles and Strengthening Fire Prevention”. Thus, the citizens should park e-motorcycles in a safe place and ensure the safety when charging them; and it is forbidden to park or charge them in common walkways, stairways, safety exits and other public areas.
The AI elevator has taken a trial run for several months, which has been praised by the residents. "We used to have to cram into the elevator with e-motorcycles during the morning and evening rush hour, which now totally goes away," said Ms. Li. With AI elevator system, the residents has now improved the consciousness that it is easy to cause fire when the e-motorcycle is charged in the corridor, and it is easy to abrase the elevator when it goes upstairs and downstairs. "Since the ladder maintainer is applied, the complaints about e-motorcycle getting into the elevator have been significantly reduced," said Zhang Zhuo, Director of the Quyang Building Neighborhood Committee.
Under the leadership of the District Safety Committee, various departments of the District Emergency Bureau, the District Market Supervision Bureau and the District Housing Administration have cooperated to promote intelligent supervision service platform of the ladder system in the whole district by purchasing the third-party services since the end of 2018. At present, the ladder system has been constructed in North Bund Sub-district and Quyang Road Sub-district, thus covering residences, office buildings, nursing homes and hospitals. Moreover, the District Emergency Bureau will strive to construct the ladder system in the district within this year, in a bid to enhance the people's sense of security and the safety of urban operation.
