“Micro Sighting” and Hand-Made Map Becoming Popular in Hongkou District

Hongkou District launched 4 “micro sighting” routes for residents on May 20, 2013, and distributed hand-made maps to residents free of charge. With these hand-made maps, residents could easily find a place to spend their weekends. They could take a stroll on a public lawn, find a good restaurant on a shopping street and have a delicious meal, or visit an art gallery to feel the glamour of art. To urban people who do not have sufficient leisure time, this is an excellent idea.

Residents could get a lot of information on this hand-made map, including the introduction of scenic spots and when these scenic spots will be opened to the public. 4 “micro sighting” routes are available for citizens: Red Classics, Shanghai Culture, Innovative Experience and Urban Leisure Trip. These routes were designed according to the geographical and cultural features of Hongkou District and are suitable for citizens of different age groups. These routes are very popular among both the elderly and the young people.

It takes less than 15 minutes to complete the longest route. Citizens could take bus to travel long distance. The locations of bus stops have been clearly marked on the map. In addition, citizens could get the latest information of North Sichuan Road through the introductions on “North Sichuan Road-Wujing Road Commercial District” and “Commercial District on the Middle Section of North Sichuan Road”.
