Hongkou District Party Secretary Li Qian met with Lu Tingyan, Vice President and Member of the Party Leadership Group of China Three Gorges Group, along with other senior leaders from the organization.
The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions aimed at deepening their strategic partnership and exploring new areas of cooperation.
Founded in 1993, China Three Gorges Group has rapidly developed over the past 30 years to become the world’s largest hydropower developer and operator, as well as a leading clean energy group in China.
It is also one of the first enterprises selected by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) as a model for creating world-class demonstration enterprises.
The group plays a vital role in implementing national strategies, particularly in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem.
In addition to supporting sustainable regional development, the group is a pioneer in driving the clean energy industry forward and expanding China's hydropower capabilities globally.
The group’s subsidiary, Shanghai Investigation, Design & Research institute Co., was established in 1954. It has since evolved into a major comprehensive design institute offering full-service engineering consulting and an entire industrial chain of services, having started with the planning and design of the large-scale hydropower station -- the Xin'anjiang Hydropower Station.
During the meeting, Li Qian warmly welcomed Lu Tingyan and his delegation. He pointed out that Hongkou is accelerating the development of high-quality industries, positioning itself as "Shanghai’s North Bund, a new urban benchmark," with a focus on green, low-carbon initiatives and technological innovation.
Li Qian stated that Hongkou would continue to support China Three Gorges Group’s development, strengthen the cooperation framework, and ensure effective service and support.
He called for the introduction of more quality industries and high-caliber projects to the region, ensuring that both sides work closely to accelerate the implementation of major projects that would empower the district’s economic transformation and growth.
Lu Tingyan expressed his gratitude for the support and assistance the group has received from the Hongkou District Party Committee and government.
He noted that Three Gorges Group is committed to aligning with the goals of high-quality development as outlined in the 20th Central Committee’s third plenary session and is focusing on enhancing safety and development quality.
The group plans to deepen its involvement in Hongkou's economic and social development, leveraging its advantages in project investment and technological innovation to contribute further to the district’s regional growth.
