The first Ruihong Tiandi Sports Festival officially commenced at the Hall of the Sun on July 21.
This event, as part of the Shanghai Sports Consumption Festival's "Sports Business" integration project and Hongkou District's sports promotion activities, aims to create new sports consumption spaces and scenarios, providing local residents with convenient and enjoyable sporting venues.
The event has attracted numerous leading sports enterprises from across Shanghai, including Decathlon, Lululemon, Elastic Gorilla, Daoshun Archery, Stan Planet, and the Shanghai Sports Dance Association, contributing significantly to the development of the sports industry in Hongkou.
The sports event aims to create a unique “Olympics” for local citizens. Within the entire Ruihong Tiandi business district, the event features three main segments: “Competition,” “Fun,” and “Community Engagement.” It includes four official events, six community sports schedules, ten parent-child sports activities, and twelve summer sweat-inducing workouts, offering over forty sports projects and experiences.
Hongkou has achieved remarkable results in competitive sports, public sports, and sports facility construction. Recently, Hongkou won the championship in the Boys' B group and the runner-up in the Boys' A group of the 2024 Shanghai Youth Sports Elite Series Volleyball Competition.
Public sports activities are also rich and diverse, with over thirty "Hong Sports" series activities held annually, and more than 200 public sports events organized by various subdistricts and associations each year.
The opening ceremonies of the Shanghai Sailing Open and the Shanghai Rowing Open were successfully held at the North Bund, and events like the Shanghai Hongkou Easy Run Elite Race continue to shine.
Hongkou's sports facilities are also continuously improving. The Hongkou Sports Center and the Hongkou Swimming Pool will both complete renovations this year.
The North Bund Citizen Sports Center, Handan Road Citizen Sports Center, and Caihongwan Citizen Sports Center will be open to the public by the end of the year. By 2025, more high-quality citizen sports centers will be available, providing residents with more convenient and accessible sports venues.
