At the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the scientist spirit exhibition activity was held at the Shanghai Institute of Technology and Physics on October 27. Li Qian, Chief of the District Party Committee, and Wang Yu, Deputy Chief of the Party Committee of the Shanghai Science and Technology Work, attended the event and unveiled the Innovative Talent Training Demonstration Base of the Institute. Chen Xin, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, and Li Zhenghua, Chief of the Party Leadership Group of Shanghai Branch and Chief of the Party Committee of Shanghai under the CAS, unveiled the "National Scientist Spiritual Education Base" of the Institute. Ding Lei, Director of the institute, attended the event and delivered a speech.
The Shanghai Institute of Technology and Physics, located on Yutian Road, Hongkou District, is a comprehensive research institution that integrates basic research, engineering technology research and development, and high-tech industrialization. It has always focused on major national strategic needs, adhered to mission positioning, and trained leading talents and technological innovation teams in the field of infrared and optoelectronics through the tempering of major scientific and technological tasks. Moreover, it is committed to forming a strong atmosphere of respecting knowledge, advocating innovation, respecting talents, loving science, and dedicating itself to science, It has been awarded the titles of "National Innovation Talent Training Demonstration Base" and "National Scientist Spirit Education Base". The establishment of the two national-level bases not only acknowledged the scientific research talent work of the institute but also injected new momentum into the high-quality development of Hongkou's technology innovation industry.
There are also drama performances and performances on site. The performances are four parts: "A Journey to contribute to the country", "Chasing dreams: wind, cloud and stars", "An adventure in the depopulated zone", and "Building major projects for a great power". Written and performed by young employees and graduate students from the Shanghai Institute of Technology and Physics, the performances tell the story of generations of scientists and researchers committed to building a strong technology country and climbing the technological peak. It also highlights the determination of youngsters to take over the relay baton of infrared technology and forge ahead bravely.
The Dedication of Light and Heat, the collection of spiritual works by scientists, debuted during this event. After two years of polishing, this book describes the stories of scientists emerging from the infrared and optoelectronic technology fields of the Shanghai Institute of Technology and Physics under the guidance of national strategic missions. It focuses on organizing and depicting the group portraits of academicians and experts from the Shanghai Institute of Technology and Physics, as well as middle-aged and young technological backbones and innovation teams.
The performance of sitcoms and the debut of the first edition of the "Dedication of Light and Heat" collection is a true portrayal of the determination of several generations of technological workers at the Shanghai Institute of Technology and Physics to serve the country. It is also a concrete expression of the scientific spirit accumulated over the past 65 years of development at the institute. It inspires and guides young scientific and technological talents to vigorously promote the scientific spirit, and to make contributions to achieving high-level technological self-reliance and building a strong technology and talent country. We would devote our youth and wisdom to comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with the Chinese path to modernization.
