Hongkou was accelerating the construction of the North Bund of Shanghai and the Golden Triangle of Huangpu River and building it into an important window of the Chinese path to modernization. Korean enterprises were welcomed to invest and start business in Hongkou. We hoped that both sides would cooperate on a wider range and deeper level, further promote friendly exchanges between people, and expand international influence.
Zhang Junlong expressed gratitude to the Hongkou District Government for their warm and friendly reception. Zhang said that China and South Korea are geographically similar and culturally interconnected. It was glad to see that Hongkou had undergone rapid changes. We hoped that both sides would continuously consolidate friendly cooperative relations, have closer exchanges in culture, art, education, economy and trade, and achieve common prosperity.
Dongnae District, located in the northeast of Busan Metropolitan City, South Korea, is the central urban area of Busan with a long history and abundant culture.
Hongkou and Dongnae established a friendly exchange relationship in May 1997, and it was upgraded to an internationally friendly urban area in July 2012. Since the establishment of the relationship, the two sides have sent more than 20 civilian delegations to each other for exchanges in various forms such as traditional cultural exhibitions, artistic performances, sports competitions, and school cooperation. This has received warm responses from the people of the two districts and strengthened the friendship between the Chinese and South Korean people.
Also attending the meeting were Zhou Rong, Standing Member of the CPC District Committee and Deputy District Governor, as well as Deputy Speaker Quan Jingwen and Councilor Xu Demi of the Dongnae District Council.
