Pocket Sports Park to Debut

The "Pocket Sports Park", small and beautiful, green and exquisite, with multiple functions such as fitness, leisure, and entertainment, organically integrates urban green space with sports and cultural facilities~

Recently, the newly created "Pocket Sports Park" was officially unveiled at the intersection of Garden City Phase 2 and Phase 3 Projects and Hongkou DOBE Sports LOFT at Guangzhong Road Sub-district, allowing surrounding residents and white-collars to enjoy the fun of fitness.

“I think the ground has changed the most. It used to be hard tiles, but now it's made of elastic plastic. It's much safer for children to play, swing, and even climb here", Grandpa Zhang, who was playing with his grandson, told the reporter.

“There are also a lot more equipment, besides infrastructure suitable for the elderly, there are also rocking chairs, seesaws, and swings that children like.”

“Especially on this elastic plastic ground, printed with the scale of standing long jump and two tracks, as well as the pattern of jumping houses, adults have also found beautiful memories of their childhood”, the residents have been praising the park.

It was reported that the park, covering an area of 800 square meters, was funded and constructed by Guangzhong Road Sub-district. Originally, this was also a fitness venue, but the equipment and neighborhood style were relatively outdated. In the preliminary update demand survey, residents have repeatedly reported that the venue lacked recreational facilities and the quantity of equipment could not meet the fitness needs of surrounding residents. Considering that the plot was adjacent to the Hongkou DOBE Sports LOFT as well as the residential areas, with a large number of elderly and children, the sub-district decided to upgrade and renovate this area for elderly people to walk, exercise, and take care of children.

“After the renovation, we have adopted high-resilient elastic plastic flooring, which is safer. The equipment and colored elastic plastic flooring highlight sports properties and are more compatible with the Hongkou DOBE Sports LOFT and surrounding businesses. We have also added plant landscape flower beds for sitting and viewing, and added large plants and small shrubs between residential areas, which was equivalent to building a soundproof wall for adjacent communities”, an official of the Guangzhong Road Sub-district introduced, “The positioning of the upgrading was still a sports park for residents, mainly suitable for the elderly and children.”

It is learned that in the future, Hongkou DOBE Sports LOFT will undertake the 3-year maintenance work of the park after the one-year warranty period, mainly being responsible for daily patrol, cleaning of elastic plastic floors and equipment inside the venue. In addition, the park plans to organize some sports activities at the venue, and invite white-collars and surrounding residents to participate in them, so as to promote the co-construction of the block, the community, and the park, as well as enhance the commercial vitality of the park.
