On April 13, Hongkou held a friendship exchange meeting between China, Japan, and South Korea on the North Bund. Fu Luyong, Rotating President of the China, Japan, South Korea Friendship Exchange Association, Wu Jian, the President of the Association, and representatives of more than 50 enterprises from China, Japan, and South Korea attended the meeting.
Japanese and Korean enterprises have always had a strong connection with Hongkou. It is reported that since the opening of Shanghai as a port, thousands of merchants have gathered, with Japanese and Korean overseas Chinese gradually gathering in Hongkou, accounting for more than one tenth of the total population of the Hongkou area at that time. The folk exchanges between China, Japan, and South Korea have a long history. Coincidentally, among the foreign invested enterprises in Hongkou, the number of Japanese and Korean enterprises accounts for one tenth. A group of Japanese and Korean multinational enterprises such as Panasonic Electric Appliances, Kose Group, and CJ Logistics have set up their headquarters in Hongkou, further promoting the scale of Hongkou's foreign-related economy to a new level and being an important driving force for the external circulation of the Hongkou regional economy.
Representatives of participating institutions and enterprises first visited the North Bund Digital Exhibition Hall and witnessed the bustling construction site of the North Bund, with its towering pile foundations and cranes. During the event, the head of the District Commerce Committee introduced the North Bund to entrepreneurs, expressing that Hongkou warmly welcomes Japanese and Korean entrepreneurs to invest and start business at the North Bund, share opportunities, seek common development, witness the miracle created by the North Bund, and jointly help China, Japan, and South Korea to move towards a new era of friendship.
The China, Japan and South Korea Friendship Exchange Association is an organization that promotes cultural and business exchanges between China, Japan, and South Korea, with over 1,000 members of business elites from China, Japan and South Korea. Fu Luyong, the rotating president, said that it was precisely with the strong development of the North Bund. The association specially organized member units to visit the North Bund to learn more about it. It was hoped that the member units have the opportunity to work together with the North Bund to create a better future.
While representatives of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean enterprises made speeches, Gongrong International Comprehensive Service Co., Ltd. (Japan), Shanghai Ouai Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., and Eryi Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. introduced their development situations and concerned about the development of the North Bund. Eryi Trading, the Japanese-funded enterprise, has settled its first store of Shanghai at the North Bund. They have driven consumption in the circle with a new lifestyle, spread the concept of environmental protection and sustainable development, and brought a trendy life to the North Bund.
