Reconstruction of Old Areas Ranked below Secondary Old Neighborhood Completed in All-round Way!

"It has taken effect! We caught the last bus of the old areas’ reconstruction! Very happy!" On the morning of June 30, the signing rates of housing expropriation in Blocks 185, 212, 234 and 247 in Hongkou District reached 97.05%, 99.66% and 100%, respectively, and the high proportions took effect. This also meant that the reconstruction of houses ranked below the secondary old neighborhoodin Hongkou District has been fully completed.

Guo Fang and her entourage expressed their cordial greetings and heartfelt thanks to the comrades who fought in the front line of old areas’ reconstruction in Hongkou.

Yao Kai said in his speech that we should study to promote the old areas’ reform of scattered land plots, further innovate and explore, and strive to improve the quality of life of more people as soon as possible. We should take the implementation of the requirements of the Shanghai Municipal Party Congress as a major political task at present and in the future and ensure that the goals and tasks put forward by the congress are implemented, so as to achieve an all-round victory in the battle for the reconstruction of old areas as soon as possible. We should leave the best resources to the people, serve the people with high-quality supplies, move forward bravely, accelerate the reconstruction of sporadic old houses and incomplete public houses, in a bid to create new achievements and add new glory to this glorious city.

Hu Guangjie said in his speech that in the process of continuously promoting the transformation of old areas and the organic renewal of cities with the strength of the whole district, Hongkou adhered to the guidance of the Party building, innovated working methods, implemented the mode of "district-municipality cooperation, government-enterprise cooperation, the district being taken as the main part in the old areas’ reconstruction", innovated the mode of "group packaging", adhered to the "three reservoirs and three plans", insisted that the start should be a decisive battle, the start should be a sprint, and constantly updated the record of the new turn of old areas’ reform, tried to make the old communities, where residents still went to public toilets everyday, change its old appearance as soon as possible, and made the sunshine of the old areas’ reconstruction shine on every old plot. The greatest livelihood breeds the greatest development. Guided by the requirements of the Shanghai Municipal Party Congress, Hongkou will speed up the reconstruction of old areas, create a modern, livable and safe production and living space, and do a solid job in the second half of the article of the transformation of old areas.

Hongkou has ever been one of the old urban areas with the most concentrated dangerous sheds and simple houses and the heaviest task of old areas’ reconstruction in Shanghai. All the officials of Hongkou District have attached great importance to the old area’s reform and listed it as the biggest focus of Hongkou's people's livelihood, development and revitalization of urban resources. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, Hongkou has made a total of 93 expropriation decisions, helping more than 75,000 households move out of their old houses.
