Safeguard "Last Mile" of Public Health

From November 5 to 10, the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shanghai. In order to ensure the public health safety during the CIIE, the district health supervision office carried out multiple-round and full-coverage supervision and inspection on key reception places and designated medical institutions.

On November 5, the reporter followed the law enforcement officers of the district health supervision office to Broadway Mansions Hotel. In the hotel lobby, front desk and other areas, the supervision and law enforcement personnel asked about the implementation of the epidemic prevention and control measures. Besides the supervision and law enforcement personnel came to the hotel disinfection rooms and guest rooms to spot check the disinfection of public goods and appliances, as well as the indicators of residual chlorine and turbidity of water.

According to Zhang Lei, chief of the Party branch of the district health supervision office, during the CIIE, the district health inspection office would conduct multiple-round and full-coverage supervision on the implementation of health prevention and control measures, such as the fever clinic construction, the medical waste management and the public places within the district. "In the early stage, we have carried out many inspections on 47 key reception places and 2 designated medical institutions in the district. Recently, it is a critical moment for the guarantee work of the CIIE. Therefore, we pay attention to the accommodation again and require the hotels to implement the epidemic prevention and control measures, strengthen the health management, and do a good job in the reception work with the best appearance."

In addition to the supervision and inspection of drinking water quality and the implementation of sanitation management system, the central air conditioning and ventilation systems of key reception places were comprehensively inspected during the CIIE, in a bid to guarantee the health and safety of passengers.
