In response to the requirements for new situation of military and locality integration, Quyang Road Sub-district Service Point for Veterans was unveiled at the 4th Hongkou Retired Cadres Rest Home in Shanghai Garrison on June 24 when the Culture and Service Fair at Military Camp in response to the Duanwu Festival was launched. Thus, the veterans participated into some special activities, such as making sachets and praying for blessings with Chinese mugwort, and appreciated the cultural charms of a series of traditional crafts, including dough figurine and sugar painting.
As for the construction of service points for veterans, Quyang Road Sub-district fully considers its own actual situation and characteristics. In view of the muster of the veterans and the people subject to special care and older residents, the Sub-district introduces a dual-support service team for the veterans, which covers the items like taking blood pressure, physiotherapy, repairing home appliances and umbrella, knife sharpening and folk customs display, so as to serve the veteran cadres and ex-servicemen in the Rest Home.
