6.5 Environment Day Publicized

The World Environment Day falls on June 5. Thus, the District Eco-environment Bureau and the Hongkou Library held a special online lecture on that afternoon.

The official from Shanghai Natural History Museum introduced at the lecture the species on the earth, the survival wisdom of animals and plants, and the reasons of biodiversity conservation to online viewers, so as to call for action to curb the accelerating loss of species and the degradation of natural habitats. In the comment section, the netizens responded that it is urgent to love and take care of nature.

Around the 6.5 Environment Day, the District Eco-environment Bureau organizes a series of publicity activities.

Therefore, the outer wall of Magnolia Plaza, the tallest building in Puxi (West of Huangpu River), played a publicity animation themed on the Environmental Day on the evening of June 4, which made the North Bund a new model for eco-environment protection in the new era. The sub-districts set up sites to distribute publicity materials to popularize the knowledge of eco-environment protection. Moreover, the District Eco-environment Bureau will organize a collection of "Environmental-protection Stories around Me" and offer the public environmental monitoring facilities to further arouse the attention of the whole society, to support and participate in the eco-environment protection.
