On August 6, personnel of Hongkou District Greening Committee visited a sanitarium for retired cadres of Nanjing Military Command to offer greening knowledge to soldiers.
The Committee cooperated with Quyang Rd. Sub-district to set up publicity boards in the sanitarium, introducing roof greening, room greening, balcony greening and common indoor plants and functions. They also delivered publicity materials to soldiers, including magazines and greening service guide, and presented them with potted plants like happiness tree, net plant and ferns. The soldiers responded actively by consulting the personnel about techniques of indoor flower growing and laws and regulations about greening.
Sources say, the activity is part of the greening service promotion campaign launched by the district greening department, aimed to make a greener environment of the army.
