The Sichuan Road N. "Feng" Area Urban Renewal Project has been included in the Shanghai City Urban Renewal Project Database.
The inclusion paves the way for accelerated project implementation, contributing to the ongoing development and revitalization of Sichuan Road N.
The "Feng" Area Urban Renewal Project spans Sichuan Road N. as the main axis, with extensions along Qiujiang Road, Hengshui Road, and Wujin Road, forming a key part of the broader Sichuan Road N. development initiative.
The project is designed to enhance the urban landscape, infrastructure, and economic vitality of the area.
Since the proposal of the Sichuan Road N. "Feng" Area urban renewal concept, the district has worked diligently, employing a strategy focused on “four key elements”: “a unified plan, a cohesive system, a clear work schedule, and a comprehensive project list,” in order to secure the project's inclusion in the city’s urban renewal database.
Additionally, the Sichuan Road N. subdistrict has collaborated with various district departments to form an innovative working team tasked with driving the area’s development.
The team has worked on creating an integrated urban renewal proposal, focusing on “top-down planning guidance combined with bottom-up renewal exploration.” This approach aims to foster a collaborative, inclusive model of urban development that balances government, market, and community interests.
The renewal project focuses on improving the overall urban environment and public spaces, enhancing the historical charm of the area, and stimulating commercial and business activities.
The initiative will also integrate these efforts with the area's overall environmental quality, ensuring sustainable development.
A team of Shanghai's urban renewal experts conducted a site assessment of the "Feng" Area project on August 15. After comprehensive research, consultation, and expert reviews, the project was officially accepted into the urban renewal database on December 10.
The Sichuan Road N. subdistrict has emphasized the importance of addressing both the immediate and long-term needs of the area, ensuring that the project integrates with its surrounding neighborhoods.
As the project moves forward, the goal is to create a modern, vibrant, and well-connected district that will serve as a model for urban renewal in Shanghai.
By focusing on innovative and collaborative urban development strategies, the Sichuan Road N. "Feng" Area project is set to become one of the city's premier demonstration projects, driving positive change and renewal in the region.
