The "Shanghai Hongkou Pharmaceutical Innovation Concept Verification Center" was officially inaugurated on December 18.
Chen Yihan, Vice President of Tongji University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Lu Ming, Deputy Party Secretary and Director of Hongkou District, attended the ceremony and unveiled the center.
The Shanghai Hongkou Pharmaceutical Innovation Concept Verification Center is a collaborative research and service platform established by Tongji University-affiliated Shanghai Fourth People's Hospital, Beizhonghuan Science and Technology Innovation Enterprise Development (Group) Co., Ltd., and Tongji Innovation and Entrepreneurship Holdings Co., Ltd.
The center aims to build an integrated regional pharmaceutical and medical concept verification service force, with a focus on the intersection of clinical medicine, materials, and artificial intelligence.
It is committed to bridging the gap between scientific research, clinical practice, enterprises, investment, and market, accelerating the transformation of technological achievements, and driving the high-end industrial cluster in Hongkou.
At the ceremony, the center signed strategic cooperation agreements with several enterprises and research institutions, further deepening the collaborative development model of industry, academia, and research.
The partnership aims to create a comprehensive innovation chain from basic research to market application, enhancing the quality and efficiency of both research and supply chain in the pharmaceutical industry.
Nine key transformation projects were also signed at the event. These projects span various fields, including precision medicine, smart devices, and educational training.
Once implemented, the projects are expected to improve the accuracy of medical services, enhance patient diagnostic experiences, and elevate the quality of grassroots medical services and educational resources.
Notably, the nine projects signed during the event represent recent technological achievements from Shanghai Fourth People's Hospital.
As one of Shanghai's first regional medical centers, the hospital has been deeply implementing the "Science and Education Prosper the Hospital" strategy, which has promoted comprehensive development in hospital technological innovation.
The hospital currently hosts multiple research platforms, including the Brain Function and Artificial Intelligence Transformation Research Institute, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Anesthesia and Brain Function Regulation, and the Clinical Research Center for Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine.
These platforms have undertaken 171 national and municipal research projects, achieving breakthroughs in major and key international cooperation projects, as well as outstanding young scientists' projects. The hospital’s research competitiveness has risen from 16th to 2nd place among district-level hospitals.
The establishment of the Shanghai Hongkou Pharmaceutical Innovation Concept Verification Center marks a new milestone in the development of Hongkou's pharmaceutical industry.
In the future, the center will gather global innovation resources to support pharmaceutical small-scale and pilot verification, patent protection, achievement transformation, and enterprise investment and financing.
It will play a key role in leading the development of high-end medical services and industry, promoting the deep integration of the pharmaceutical industry and technological innovation.
