Hongkou District launched its investment service series, titled "Window to CIIE, Vision for the World," at the North Bund Pavilion at the National Exhibition and Convention Center during the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) on November 6.
Hongkou Party Secretary Li Qian presided over the event, with key attendees including District Director Lu Ming, Vice General Manager of Bank of China’s Shanghai Branch Xiang Xi, and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Financial Industry Association Tu Youfu.
In his remarks, Lu highlighted that this marks the fourth consecutive year Hongkou has hosted the North Bund Pavilion at CIIE, facilitating policy releases, project signings, and investment promotion events.
He emphasized the North Bund’s rapid development over the past year, attracting high-quality enterprises and enhancing the area’s industrial capacity.
Committed to creating a business-friendly environment, Lu reaffirmed Hongkou’s role as a reliable partner for international businesses, pledging a strong legal, service, and enabling government to support their growth.
During the event, several landmark agreements were signed, welcoming new enterprises to prominent buildings in North Bund, such as the Sinar Mas Plaza, known as the tallest building in Puxi.
The event also introduced the Hongkou Global Service Provider Three-Year Action Plan (2024-2026), which includes eight initiatives to boost foreign investment, attract global talent, and foster international trade and brand clusters in Hongkou.
The plan reflects Hongkou’s commitment to enhancing its position as a strategic international hub and supporting Shanghai’s goal of linking domestic and global economic activity.
The launch also featured the unveiling of the Shanghai Inclusive Finance Advisor Hongkou Financial Service Hub, aimed at supporting SMEs with tailored financial services.
The new financial hub will leverage Hongkou’s position as a wealth management center, facilitating direct access to financial policies and services.
Following the ceremony, district leaders visited the booths of companies such as Dewu, Panasonic, Kosé Albion, Cosco Shipping, and Deloitte to strengthen ties and gather insights on their business needs.
A dedicated team of over 100 investment specialists has been deployed to promote Hongkou as an ideal destination for investment and growth during the CIIE.
Hongkou hosted more than 10 themed events at the North Bund Pavilion over the coming days, covering a range of topics from culture and trade to finance and innovation.
These events aim to showcase Hongkou’s unique business environment, strategic layout, and development plans to an international audience.
