Hongkou District welcomed Tuvaan Tsevegdorj, Mongolia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, for an official visit ahead of the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) on November 4.
Hongkou Party Secretary Li Qian met with Minister Tsevegdorj and his delegation at the Broadway Mansions, using the CIIE as an opportunity to strengthen ties between Mongolia and Hongkou District.
Li warmly welcomed Minister Tsevegdorj, noting Hongkou's commitment as a central Shanghai district to building an open economic hub and enhancing international trade and cultural exchanges.
He expressed that the visit by Mongolia's Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources opens new avenues for cooperation.
Li emphasized Hongkou’s dedication to creating platforms for collaboration, particularly in areas like mineral resource development, infrastructure construction, and green, low-carbon initiatives.
He hoped both sides would work together to deepen economic ties and cultural exchange, fostering a partnership based on resource-sharing and complementary strengths.
Minister Tsevegdorj expressed his appreciation for Hongkou’s hospitality and shared insights into Mongolia's achievements and goals in mineral resource development and infrastructure.
He highlighted Mongolia’s rich mineral resources and longstanding trade relationship with China, noting that this visit aimed to explore opportunities for cooperation with Hongkou in mining and trade.
He further emphasized Mongolia's commitment to encouraging businesses to strengthen economic ties with Hongkou, with a shared goal of accessing international markets for mutual benefit.
Tsevegdorj also expressed hopes for closer cultural and tourism partnerships to enhance understanding and friendship between the two nations.
The meeting was also attended by Hongkou District Director Lu Ming and Deputy Director Chen Shuai, reflecting the district’s commitment to advancing international partnerships and fostering a welcoming environment for global collaboration.
