In order to enhance Shanghai's foreign-related services and help foreign talents in Shanghai better understand Shanghai, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission (Shanghai Foreign Affairs Bureau), the Hongkou District Science and Technology Commission, in conjunction with the Shanghai Foreigners' Work Service Center and the “Shanghai Daily” City News Service, co-organized a foreign expert market survey and a "Stay in Shanghai" themed salon event at the "World Reception Hall" on the North Bund. 15 foreign expert representatives from universities from all over the city and research institutes have launched a spring date with Hongkou.
The theme salon introduced the North Bund to the attending experts. In the speech, the officials of the Municipal Science and Technology Commission told foreign experts that Shanghai adhered to the concept of "gathering talents from all over the world and using them", leveraged its advantages of high internationalization and large career stage, and continuously innovated policies and optimizes services to attract more foreign talents.
Subsequently, the microphone was handed over to various foreign experts, and experts from the United States, Japan, Italy, Sri Lanka and other countries introduced themselves one by one. The atmosphere immediately became lively, and a unique investigation officially began.
What is your favorite place in Shanghai?", "What are the challenges you encountered in Shanghai?" After a series of questions were raised, foreign experts began to discuss and exchange ideas.
An expert said that his favorite place is the parks in Shanghai. "People's Park, Lu Xun Park, all the parks! Because I have seen blind date corners in the parks before, it's very interesting! There, I can see the most real Chinese people, understand their lifestyles, and hope to make more Chinese friends
After the salon event, foreign experts went to Hongkou Football Stadium with colorful cherry blossoms, and began a two-hour hiking activity in Hongkou. They visited Lu Xun's Former Residence, Neishan Bookstore, and other places to pursue cultural heritage and experience the customs of Hongkou.
In the future, the District Science and Technology Commission will tightly grasp the strong engine of foreign talents with more diverse activities and better services, helping the North Bund shine with new looks and write a new chapter.
