In order to further enhance the soft power of the shipping culture at the North Bund and consolidate the cultural foundation for the construction of the international shipping center, on July 22, the Shipping State Room of the North Bund was officially inaugurated. The Hongkou District Shipping Service Office, Shanghai also cooperated with the China Maritime Museum to build the North Bund Branch. Also attending the ceremony were Dong Aihua, deputy director of the Shanghai Transportation Committee, and Chen Shuai, deputy district governor.
Xiahai Temple, Seaman's Hospital, Seagull Hotel, Yesong Shipyard... The North Bund is the birthplace of modern China's shipping industry. The shipping cultural elements permeate every corner of this land. According to statistics, Hongkou has gathered more than 4,000 shipping enterprises and nearly 40 functional organizations, and 12 of the world's top 50 liner shipping enterprises have set up regional headquarters or branches here, realizing a leap from the old wharf to the shipping service headquarters base.
The Shipping State Room of the North Bund unveiled this time is located in the building of the Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association. As an important extension of the North Bund International Shipping Forum, it is committed to building an interactive platform of the shipping industry chain, building a stage for the exchange of important views, the release of important policies and the formulation of important rules, and promoting the high-end and international development of the shipping service industry.
It is reported that Hongkou will continue to combine the headquarters building of shipping enterprises at the North Bund or buildings with the shipping culture history to build the shipping state rooms with different themes and styles, such as shipping finance, green and low-carbon, shipping culture and others, so as to attract more industry experts to exchange views here and improve the core competitiveness and global influence of the Shanghai International Shipping Center.
Comprehensively improving the soft power of shipping development is an important task for Shanghai International Shipping Center to move from "basically completed" to "fully completed". On the spot, the Hongkou District Shipping Service Office and China Maritime Museum signed the Framework Agreement on Cooperation and Co-construction, strengthened cooperation in six aspects, and promoted the establishment of the North Bund Branch of the China Maritime Museum. It is expected to open next year, in a bid to inject new momentum to the soft power of the shipping culture at the North Bund.
An internal seminar on promoting the sustainable development of the shipping industry and building a country with strong shipping in the future was also held on the same day. Many experts made suggestions for the high-quality development of Shanghai International Shipping Center.
