"When I get up in the morning, the room is bright, the mood is good, and I must look well." The sunshine in early spring pours into Shao Cundi's new house, which makes her face more and more ruddy. Shao Cundi is a disabled and childless old woman. After the signing of the Music Valley House Expropriation Project in Block 163 came into effect, Shao moved out of her old house and found a satisfactory new home. Recently, the journalist followed the official of old buildings’ renovation to her new home.
Shao Cundi's old neighbor Li Jingsheng and his wife opened the door for us. Grandma Shao said that after she moved to the new house, some old neighbors who lived nearby came to help clean and pack things every once in a while. Li Jingsheng has been here four or five times. "We have been neighbors in Block 163 since our parents' generation. We are used to taking care of each other."
78-year-old Shao Cundi suffers from severe rheumatoid arthritis. Deformed joints make her life inconvenient. In the process of the Music Valley Old House Expropriation Project, the official of old houses’ renovation of Shanghai Hongkou No. 2 House Expropriation Service Office Co., Ltd. repeatedly visited her to explain the policy. The official Yin Qinsheng carried Grandma Shao upstairs and downstairs on his back, so that she attended the round table on the interpretation of the second round of housing expropriation scheme.
Grandma Shao finally chose to sign the whole currency resettlement contract. On the day of signing the contract on December 13, 2021, Grandma Shao mentioned her concerns about subsequent house purchase, moving and other matters. Yin Qinsheng said all at once that he would help to the last moment and reassured Grandma Shao.
"I want to find a house nearby in Hongkou District. The ground floor is too wet, which is not conducive to my joints. It's better to live on the second floor." Grandma Shao's will is remembered by Yin Qinsheng. In order to realize her urgent desire to move into the new house as soon as possible, Yin Qinsheng tried his best to contact the housing agent to find a suitable house.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, it constantly rained. Yin Qinsheng didn't stop looking for a house. He also asked a warm-hearted friend to drive a disability vehicle to take her inspect the houses. "Every time, I was carried up and down from the old house on the second floor to learn more about the new houses, and Yin Qinsheng was responsible for negotiation and bargain." Grandma Shao said.
Finally, Grandma Shao decided a house with a balcony facing south on the second floor of Lane 621, Siping Road. The house is small but is well-equipped. "I am very satisfied because I finally bought a desirable house."
On January 21, 2022, Wang Yueqin, the leader of the mass working group of the old houses’ renovation sub-headquarters of Jiaxing Road Sub-district, led seven community cadres to Grandma Shao's old house to help her sort out and pack more than 40 cardboard boxes.
On January 24, Shao Cundi moved into her new house accompanied by Yin Qinsheng and Chen Chihua. On the same day, two operators implemented the community canteen delivery service for her, contacted the community property to dredge the sewer, and contacted the local neighborhood committee for more attention to her. Shao Cundi was deeply moved by their tenderness and delicacy, saying that they have a golden heart.
Grandma Shao likes making friends and her old classmates and colleagues often call on her. "Now the room is spacious and I will not worry about having no place to sit if they come." Grandma Shao said. Her old friends who came to see her said that after moving to her new home, she looked much better.
"Aunt Shao, I set the clock for you." Before leaving, Yin Qinsheng left the candy Grandma Shao gave him on the table: "Please call me whenever you need."
