On August 6, the consortium of Shanghai industry Company, Shanghai Urban Investment Company and Shanghai Construction Engineering Company, together with the North Bund Development and Construction Office, solicited open international plans for the conceptual design of buildings in block 91 of the North Bund, which meant that the development and construction of a 480 meter new landmark on the North Bund representing the "highest standard and best level" was officially launched.
Focusing on the global vision and benchmarking the world-class, the North Bund, as the planned world-class reception hall, would build a city of global headquarters and a new urban benchmark. The No. 91 neighborhood project, located in the core area of the North Bund, extended to Tangshan Road in the north, East Changzhi Road in the south, Gaoyang Road in the West and Dantu Road in the East. The plot was adjacent to the planned central green axis in the west, overlooking the riverside landscape belt of Huangpu River in the south, and it could be called the geomantic treasure land. According to the Regulatory Detailed Plan for the North Bund Area, the plot was planned to build the first high-rise building in Puxi with a height of 480m, which would reflect the Lujiazui Super High-Rise Building Group and the Bund Historical Building Group.
It was reported that this scheme would adhere to high standards and strict requirements, select at all levels, and select the best among the best. The solicitation activity began on August 6. The public pre-qualification was conducted first, and 9 candidates were selected to participate in the scheme solicitation activity. The shortlisted candidates would include no less than 3 design units that undertook the design of super high-rise landmark buildings more than 300 meters in the top 20 global cities. After the above formal solicitation stage was completed, the organizer would select 4 candidate winning schemes from 9 schemes for in-depth design. Finally, one formal scheme would stand out among the four candidate schemes.
The launch of the No. 91 Neighborhood Project on the North Bund fully reflected the speed of the North Bund. On December 31 last year, the Shanghai Land Exchange Market issued a pre-application announcement for the transfer of Block 91 on the North Bund. On May 8 this year, the consortium of Shanghai Industry Company, Shanghai Urban Investment Company and Shanghai Construction Engineering Company won it. Less than three months later, the conceptual design of No. 91 Neighborhood was solicited for international schemes. An official of the North Bund Development Office said that the list of 9 shortlisted candidates would be publicized in late August, and the scheme design would be started. It was expected to determine the final winning scheme by the end of this year.
The international scheme solicitation was specifically entrusted to Shanghai International Tendering Co., Ltd. for implementation. You can register on the official website (www.shabiding.com) from August 6 to 12 and receive the prequalification documents online.
