Since this year, Hongkou has vigorously promoted the work of COVID-19 vaccination. Under the overall arrangement of the Hongkou District Party Committee and the Hongkou District Government, the centralized COVID-19 vaccination was precisely arranged, organized and implemented, the number of permanent vaccination stations in the communities continuously increased, and such measures as adopting mobile vaccination teams, expanding the vaccination work areas, and organizing door-to-door vaccination were adopted to meet the needs of masses and effectively promote the vaccination work. The convenient and fast vaccination service made residents enthusiastic, and they rolled up their sleeves for vaccination.
Temporary and mobile stations for vaccination deliver vaccines to the door
In order to provide residents and white-collar workers with comfortable and convenient vaccination service near their homes, sub-districts in Hongkou have set up temporary vaccination stations in the citizen service stations, parks, office buildings, schools and others. With the improving conditions, many temporary stations were fixed as permanent vaccination stations. In addition to the permanent vaccination stations in medical institutions, some business buildings and parks, Hongkou District delivered vaccines to enterprises, construction sites, campuses and office buildings by the COVID-19 vaccination vehicles, in bid to promote the vaccination more quickly, orderly and flexibly.
In May, Ouyang Road Sub-district opened a temporary COVID-19 vaccination station at Tourist Service Center in Luxun Park, providing a fast passage for citizens and tourists with vaccination needs. This is the first mobile vaccination station in the Sub-district. No advance appointment is required. Citizens and tourists can register by scanning the code on site by mobile phones, and fill in the informed consent form for vaccination. The whole process is easy. Many residents who often come here to exercise have taken the lead in experiencing a convenient service of instant vaccinating. As more and more people know that, the number of vaccinated people has been increasing. At present, Luxun Park has become one of the four permanent vaccination stations in Ouyang Road Sub-district.
On April 17, the first vaccination vehicle entered the site on Dongyuhang Road, and vaccinated workers of the nearby No. 78 and No. 89 block projects. On the premise of "no production halt", the vaccination work of workers in batches in time periods at the construction sites has been effectively completed. According to Gong Xiangzhen, the head of vaccination stations of Shanghai Public Health School, there are four vaccination booths and storage refrigerators in a vaccination vehicle, which can carry about 1,000 vaccines each time and can guarantee the vaccine supply on the vaccination vehicle for one day. At present, the application system is adopted in the appointment of COVID-19 vaccination vehicle of Hongkou District. The parks, enterprises or construction sites can apply to the Hongkou District Health Department by email.
The vaccination at night provided for convenience of the public
With the citizens' increasing enthusiasm for vaccination, in order to meet the needs of different people for staggering vaccination, multiple vaccination stations in Hongkou District have successively entered the "day plus night" mode, and added the night service for vaccination stations. In addition, to provide convenient, safe and quick vaccination services to the public, the vaccination teams are deployed in the sub-districts of Hongkou District. Besides the permanent vaccination stations, flexible "mobile vaccination teams" are orchestrated to set up temporary vaccination stations in the residential area, which are available day and night on working days and weekends to provide vaccination service to the residents' door.
At 9:08 p.m. on June 3, Lu Xinyu, director of the Hailun Neighborhood Committee of Jiaxing Road Sub-district, saw off the last batch of residents of the observation and returned to the office to comb and count the vaccination situation of the day together with his colleagues. These two days, a temporary vaccination station was set up in the community at night. Lu Xinyu told that some working people went out early and came back late, and some old and weak people could not go outside alone. Several vaccination stations in Hongkou operated at night to solve their difficulties, which got support from many residents. "Although the work is hard, we are gratified with residents' coming".
The volunteers’ work to reflect the warmth of Shanghai
"Have you had breakfast? Empty stomach is not good for vaccination. Snacks are provided here. You can have some snacks before vaccination. Or, you can come here again after having some food", said Chen Yanping, who comes from the Development Office of the North Bund Sub-district and works at the Registration Office of Vaccination Station of Mongolia Plaza. In Hongkou District, a group of young people like Chen Yanping became volunteers of vaccination stations. The Communist Youth League Working Committee of Jiangwan Town Sub-district specially established the youth commando team for vaccination. The team members publicized by setting up booths, promoting to households, and telephone and WeChat on weekends, cooperate with the vaccination stations and guarantee the order maintenance and process explanation.
After the people aged from 60 to 75 are allowed to be vaccinated, it is the top priority to provide the elderly with careful and patient service. Ouyang Road Sub-district Community Health Service Center deliberately arranged a retired doctor volunteer in the waiting area on the second floor to answer questions for the elderly. Because some old people's mobile phones are not accessed to Internet, the staffs provide their own Wi-Fi signals to help them scan codes. For the elderly people without mobile phones, volunteers will assistant them in getting the paper version of personal information by checking medical insurance cards or ID cards on the terminal machine of Health Cloud APP.
On the afternoon of April 20, Javier, the first foreigner from Spain vaccinated at the COVID-19 vaccination station of Liangcheng New Village Sub-district, said: "I am confident that vaccination is a protective measure that everyone should do!" After the vaccination, he thumbed up with a smile and said everything went well. At the vaccination station for foreigners, the Informed Consent of COVID-19 Vaccination in Shanghai in languages including Chinese, English, Korean, Japanese and French was supplied, and bilingual instructions were also placed on the site. In each link and post, translation volunteers of English, Japanese, Korean and other foreign language in blue vests are arranged to help foreigners consult and register for vaccination. Barrier-free communication makes the foreigners feel the warmth of Shanghai.
