A Tribute to Medical Workers Aiding Wuhan

As blossoms come out in spring, Hongkou greeted the aiding-Wuhan medical workers returning home with the greatest courtesy on April 17.

As an order, COVID-19 control is a duty. Thus, a batch of medical workers from Hongkou came to aid Wuhan and went all out to treat local infected patients since Lunar New Year's Eve. Some of them served to carry out nucleic acid testings of throat swabs for all the infected in the ward in more than 60 days; facing the unknown challenge, some overcame all kinds of difficulties by racing against time and treated patients as quickly as possible; and some appeased the in-pain patients with anxiety in a soft and sweet voice. With their considerate care, the patients recovered one by one. Besides, the hospital they worked for has witnessed their great efforts and the patients’ gratitude to them. Due to their hard work, Wuhan has gone through the difficult time.

The fight against COVID-19 is a war without gunpowder but self-evident dangers. As a verse saying that we shall sacrifice everything for our country, the medical workers from all over the country come to aid Wuhan and present that we can fight against any difficulty as long as we work together. Our wills unite like a fortress when there is a danger, and the medical workers are heroes for being fearless, selfless, responsible and dedicated when fighting against COVID-19.

Inspired by the order, the medical workers from Hongkou stand up, and the whole district has assumed responsibilities solidly, stuck to the posts, taken prompt actions, and carried out efficient work in this inexorable race to COVID-19 control.

The district’s leading cadres make coordination at the front line, while governmental officers support the communities and the airports on COVID-19 control; the cadres of the neighborhood committees maintain COVID-19 control, while the first-line staff of various departments stick to their posts; and, the volunteers step out to safeguard the communities. Since the outbreak, thousands of people from all walks of life have worked at the front line to fight against COVID-19, and the citizens in Hongkou staying at home have assumed their own responsibility and contributed their strength to block the spread of virus and safeguard our home. The people contributing to COVID-19 control sincerely provide their own forces to build up the new era.

By now, the medical workers have returned to Hongkou, and COVID-19 control is carried out well. Completing and announcing the "Revision of Detailed Controlled Planning of the North Bund Sub-district in Hongkou (Draft with Public Participation)", Hongkou will embark upon a new journey. Furthermore, we must maintain the momentum to unite wills and overcome difficulties, advance production resumption in a smooth and orderly manner under the situation of preventing imported cases and controlling the rebounding of domestic cases, and make efforts in speed, quality and results, so as to turn crisis into opportunity, chase a new dream and build up a new era.
