The 5th Shanghai Public Welfare Partnership Day Hongkou Sub-event was lately kicked off in the district’s Public Welfare Innovation Park. Co-hosted by the Civil Affairs Bureau and Administration Bureau of NGOs in the district and operated by the district’s Association for Non-profit Organization, the event lasted 3 days and involved 10-plus quality social organizations and more than 200 community residents for participation.
The Public Welfare Partnership Day provided services for environmental protection, like recycling expired drugs and waste electronic products; those for health, such as testing blood pressure and blood oxygen and offering psychological consultation; and those for relaxation, such as dessert baking, bonsai making, sewing and knitting and photography. There’re also young volunteers training and free lectures themed environmental protection and culture. And a charity bazaar was also opened on the site, with all the income donated to Shanghai Charity Foundation, Hongkou Branch.
Reports say, more than 60 enterprises and over 200 social organizations presented exhibitions and shows and launched charity bazaars and charity clinics during the Public Welfare Partnership Day, thus demonstrating an innovative model of public welfare projects that involves crossover cooperation and providing platforms like salon, forum and meeting for further exchanges among participants.
