Actively Expanding Combination of Medical Care and Nursing
The aging in Hongkou District is becoming more and more serious. The Hospital actively expands the combination project of medical care and nursing, among which the long-term care insurance service is the most representative. In 2016, Chifeng Hospital was selected as the first pilot unit of long-term care insurance service, the project of the government's benefit to the public in Hongkou. After five years of unremitting efforts, it has served nearly 5,700 elderly people and owns more than 500 members in its nursing teams. One day in 2018, when a long-term care nurse was serving an 84-year-old man suffering from various diseases, he suddenly fainted. The nurse immediately called Chifeng Hospital and sent a car to take the old man to Xinhua Hospital for treatment through the green channel.The rapid response of nurses made the elderly with sudden cerebral infarction out of danger. There were no children near the old man, so the nurse stayed with the old man all night. When the old man's son from the East China Sea Fleet arrived on the next day, he took the nurse's hand with tears in his eyes and was deeply moved.
The Memory Clinic Set for the Elderly
In recent years, the elderly cognitive impairment care service has gradually become an urgent concern. Chifeng Hospital has actively participated in the pilot projects of friendly community of cognitive impairment in Jiangwan Town Sub-district and Quyang Road Sub-district. Relying on the medical background, the Hospital has promoted it at the public citizen station, day-care center and long-term care insurance, and opened a memory clinic in the Hospital to provide continuous medical services for groups at high risk of cognitive impairment. Up to now, the cognitive impairment projects of Jiangwan Town Sub-district and Quyang Road Sub-district have completed risk screening for more than 6,000 people. Early intervention was carried out for the elderly at risk of cognitive impairment. Through the intervention, the elderly significantly bettered, and the pressure of the family was effectively relieved. At the same time, the Hospital participated in the construction of a cognitive impairment friendly community including 14 friendly units and made continuous efforts to promote the development of cognitive impairment projects.

Over the years, Chifeng Hospital has regularly held health education lectures and free clinic activities for the elderly, provided health consultation for the elderly and carried out public welfare blood pressure measurement, blood glucose measurement, carotid screening measurement and others.
